We’re seeking individuals in Homer to capture stories that will be combined & edited together for the Community Video Portrait installation at the Bunnell Street Arts Center. The video installation will be available for viewing on April 14th.
This project is about telling stories; telling stories to each other and stories of Homer. There will be numerous types of stories: communal stories, mythical stories, happy stories, sad stories, bedtime stories, work stories, fishing stories, private stories, and gossip stories. There will be stories about Homer, stories about bars, stories about churches, stories about family, stories that grandma once told, stories about the dog, stories about the playground, stories about driftwood, stories about boats, stories about small towns, stories about summer, winter spring and the fall, stories about day, and stories about the night, stories about the sea, stories about stories, and stories about the people of Homer.
Video cameras can be checked out from Bunnell through March 24th, during business hours Monday – Friday, 11-5. The cameras are easy-to-use digital snap cameras. Check out a camera and start interviewing!
